Earth & Planetary Science | Museums & Education | Science & Art Collaboration

Sanjeev is a geologist and planetary scientist at Imperial College London.  He is interested in landscape evolution on planetary surfaces. He studies and teaches about the processes that shape landforms and landscapes at Earth’s surface and how these are encoded in the sedimentary rock record. He is best known for the discovery of how Britain became an island through sonar mapping of the English Channel, showing that a series of catastrophic megafloods separated Britain from continental Europe. He has also worked at the interface of geoscience and archaeology, researching how rivers controlled early urbanization in the Bronze-age Indus culture. His expertise in deciphering how sedimentary rocks preserve a record of environmental and climate change led to him being selected as a Participating Scientist on NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity mission. His work with mission colleagues has led to the discovery of the first in situ evidence for ancient rivers, deltas and lake systems at the martian surface. He is currently on the science team of the Perseverance rover mission and a Long Term Planner for the mission. His work is on the analysis of sedimentary rocks at Jezero crater to reconstruct palaeoenvironments and develop exploration strategies for sample selection, and providing context for samples collected for future return to Earth. He also plays a major role on the upcoming ESA Rosalind Franklin Mars rover mission. He holds senior advisory roles with the UK Space Agency and international space organisations.

Sustainable Materials | Experimental Process | Educational Frameworks

I am a visual artist, based in the UK, working predominantly across analogue photography. My practice adapts around materials and environments, weaving photographic knowledge, processes and systems into ecological frameworks. This provides me with avenues through which I can rethink photographic futures that depart from capitalist ideologies. 

I am the founder of the Sustainable Darkroom, a charity dedicated to researching and disseminating lower-toxicity photographic materials and methods. I also co-direct London Alternative Photography Collective, am represented by Land Art Agency and am a facilitator of sustainability within the arts.

Using a DIY, low-impact, low-waste approach, I expand on photography to think through complex relationships between materials, making and capitalism. The works, often move away from the representational, as I allow the materials or landscape to guide and direct the formation of the image. Letting go of expectations and relinquishing control become part of the rhythm of making.

I have taught at venues including The Science Gallery, V&A, The Royal Academy, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (Hamburg), Hestercombe Gardens and Gallery, The Royal College of Art, Slade School of Art, Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (Germany) and the Architectural Association. 

Body & Landscape | Performance Studies | Trauma Healing

Morgan Kulas is a dance maker whose work explores the poetry, potential, and phenomena of embodiment. Her creative and practice-led research contributes to the web of inquiry taking place at the intersection of dance, ecology, and performance studies, ensuing in contemplative choreographies that perform embodied acts of resilience and repair. Her choreography draws upon the aesthetic languages of ballet, contemporary dance, folklore, and site-responsive performance, creating works for stage and film that investigate healing, belonging, and relationship to place. Morgan earned a BFA in Acting and Dance Performance from Chicago College of Performing Arts and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art & Regenerative Culture from the University of New Mexico.

Morgan’s teaching practice reflects an ongoing investigation of the body as a landscape through which the beauty and trauma of the Anthropocene is mirrored. Her work aims to provoke contemplative inquiry, taking shape as trauma informed dance, yoga, and performance research. Her offerings invite participants to investigate relationships between body, imagination, culture, and the more-than-human world. Morgan has worked as a ballet and contemporary dance educator and choreographer since 2004 and as a yoga and meditation teacher since 2012.

Travel and Adventure | Writing | Humanitarian and Charity Work

Brought up in Scotland, I am a writer interested in myth, nature and culture. Along with a horse called Sasha, I journeyed 111 days across Europe, creating the first conclusive horse-trail across the Ligurian Alps in recorded history. My debut book, In Green, follows this time.

Aged 18 I went in search of the Tsaatan tribe in northern Mongolia. On my return, I rode the length of the UK on a Highland pony called Irelanda. The solo trip raised £38,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and laid the foundation for The Big Hoof: a Scottish registered outdoor mental health charity that creates long distance journeys with horses. To date, the charity has travelled over 4,500 miles and raised over £100,000 for causes focussed on mental health, wellbeing and child welfare in the UK and Europe.

From 2023 - 2025 I had the pleasure of working for NGO Insulate Ukraine. Driven by this time spent in Ukraine, I’ve been taken on as a creative director for an essayistic documentary on the meaning of Home - due to be released in the spring of 2027.

In 2026 I graduated with a master’s in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford. Beyond my travels, I am a freelance writer, contributing to The Guardian, National Geographic, The Scotsman and others.

Marie has worked in the advertising and design sector for the past 13 years, collaborating with creatives, studios and agencies including Jones Knowles Ritchie, Wieden+Kennedy and Iris London to develop and nurture the next generation of creative talent.

Alongside her work at D&AD and Land Art Agency, Marie has also worked for a number of higher education institutions delivering educational resources and sustainable consultancy for the likes of London College of Communication and University of Huddersfield. She is also an advisory board member for UAL's Creative Shift, which believes in shaping diversity and equity in the creative industries and aims to empower University of the Arts London students who are least represented in the creative sector.

Her work has included developing educational programmes to help aspiring creatives to enter the commercial sector, developing awards at D&AD to celebrate creative talent, and recruiting leading members of industry to help evolve the commercial sector.

Slow Practice | Ancient & Ritual Traditions | Culinary Arts

Nahla is an interdisciplinary  artist whose practice explores tensions between the urban and the organic, the beautiful and the grotesque. Sensitive to the self-organising agency of materials, she adventures into the world of immateriality and the intangible through experiments in alchemy and combining elements from the organic and inorganic. Her methods are intentionally slow-paced, meditative and labour-intensive and permeate strands of her everyday life to heal and harmonise her otherwise fast-paced life. As an act of resistance, she leans into alternative constructs of time and ancient practices as a way to summon magic in the mundane everyday. She sees our present state as a catastrophic dystopian world that can no longer be dismantled with human hands, but rather, she is seeking wisdom in the more-than-human world. Through working with invasive and indigenous plants, plant medicine, hiking, animal care and reading into regional mythology and folklore, her work moves towards a place where she can propose a new system of radical care and the sacred.

In  the culinary world she has led performance dinners and explorations at 421 with Moza al Matrooshi,  Al Serkal Avenue, Art Dubai with Augustine Paredes, Art Dubai with Fernando Garcia Dory, Myocum  and Amman Design Week, and has curated Sufra with Frying Pan  Adventures and Rewilding the Kitchen with Al Serkal Online. She has published recipes which have featured in EastEast Magazine, The Confused Arab, Deep Fried and Attempting Abla Nazira.

Elizabeth Gleave is a creative strategist, educator and founder ~ creator, co-founder and director of Land Art Collective. Working across the globe at the intersection of ecology, storytelling and cultural communications to build projects that connect people, place and collective futures. As a marketing and communications educator and a visiting lecturer across UK institutions including Central Saint Martins, Falmouth and Slade School of Fine Art, she brings both creative vision and practical leadership to fruition, translating ideas into structured programmes, collaborations and delivery. Her producing, project management and digital strategy work has supported artists and organisations internationally, with experience spanning D&AD, Reuters, The Times & Sunday Times, Photo London, Tate and White Cube.

Emilio Mula is a filmmaker, visual artist and animator. For over 20 years Emilio has communicated stories about the environment through social engagement and art projects using films, animations and visual installations. Emilio is currently experimenting with sensors in nature to create real time, interactive experiences, and working with climate data to convert it into more visceral audiovisual information in order to develop new ways of understanding the changes that are happening in and around us.

Emilio Mula is... Moedular. Emilio is a multidiciplinary artist based in UK. He explores the intersections betwen art, ecology, science and living beings through Children of Compost, a collaborative project cultivating partnerships among artists and scientists to create art experiences:

In our creative explorations we seek to amplify the voice of natural phenomena, the voice of everything that interacts with us–constantly, invisibly, without our awareness; tides, humidity, magnetic fields, photosynthesis, biogeochemical pathways. We translate these forces into images, real-time audiovisual installations and interactive experiences. We do this in order to call attention to the fact that it is time for us all to engage in a more intimate dialogue about these complex interrelationships... the forces that do actually govern our lives.
